FTSE Group and Nasdaq Dubai launched the first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) country indices for domestic, GCC and international market participants. The GCC countries included in the series are the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar. The indices are tools suitable for use in the creation of index-linked products like tracker funds, index certificates, warrants and exchange traded funds, and they also pave the way for the introduction of exchange traded index derivatives, including futures and options.
